Steven Segaloff is General Counsel at Atalaya and is responsible for transactional and other matters related to investments made via the firm’s managed funds. Prior to joining Atalaya, Steven co-founded Bellnote Partners, a boutique law firm and direct investment firm. Previously, Steven served as General Counsel at Genesys Global, an innovative lighting company; Counsel at Herrick, Feinstein LLP, a New York-based law firm; Deputy General Counsel at Plainfield Asset Management, a multi-strategy hedge fund that managed peak assets in excess of $5 billion; and Senior Counsel at National Financial Partners Corp., a public company in the financial services sector. Steven began his legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He holds a BA in American Studies, cum laude, from Cornell University and a JD from the University of Chicago School of Law. Prior to law school, Steven was a member of the U.S. National Rowing Team and U.S. Olympic Team from 1993-96 and a World Rowing Champion.
